CHRISTMAS TREE SKIRT MADE WITH DAD’S TIES
What do you get a man who has everything?...a tie?....Year after year that man who has everything gets…..a tie! Pretty soon those ties begin piling up and going out of style. I’ve got a great idea for those old ties!
This project began about a year ago when my father in law passed away and my husband inherited a box of his ties. We were going to donate them, but we just couldn’t part with the ties that laid so close to his heart. I have to share a funny story with you. I ran across this idea in an old craft magazine and thought it would be such a keepsake for my nieces and nephews. I asked my friend Marilyn to help me with this one because she sews all the time, so I must give her a big thanks for her help!
You’ll need:
- 1 ¾ yards of 54 inch wide fabric
- 1 ¾ yards of 54 inch wide lining fabric
- 3 packages of stitch witchery
- Iron
