House of Crafts- "No Sew" Scarf

"NO SEW" SCARF

I'm not a great seamstress. In fact, I recently got out the old sewing machine from my mother-in-law that has been sitting in my basement for over a year. Honestly, it scared me. I don't know what all the knobs are for, so I think I'll just use it when absolutely necessary. Luckily, my friend Pammy told me about this "no sew" hat and I loved the idea! THANK YOU, PAMMY. I added the "no sew" scarf too!

You'll need:

* a yard of fleece fabric
* stitch witchery and your iron
* needle and thread
* decorative buttons
* scissors
* measuring tape
* chalk

The first thing you'll need to do is measure your head all the way around your forehead. If this is a gift for someone, measure the head of someone who would be a similar size to the recipient. My head is 22" around, so I cut my fleece 22" x 25". As you can see in the picture, I made mine more like a stocking cap. If you want a shorter cap, your length will be shorter (more like 16-18"). Measure and mark with chalk to cut. Once your fleece is cut, fold the width in half to form the tube. Iron on your stitch witchery according to package directions leaving 4" unstiched at one end. When cool, turn inside out. On the unstitched end, cut pieces of fleece about an inch wide and 4" long to make you fringe. Cut a piece of fleece that is 1" x 9" for the tie. Gather the fringes and tie around the fringes. On the other end of the tube, roll up two turns to form the cuff. To keep the cuff from turning, hand sew some decorative buttons. I found some really cute little wild animal buttons and added some decorative tree and pine cone buttons with them. Pammy made her hat with soft blue fleece and snowflake buttons. She also suggested making
